Aeden Bruce will be hoping to capitalise on his breakthrough victory in the Easykart 125cc class on Sunday (April 26) when the 2026 Sectus Technologies Barbados Karting Association (BKA) Championship resumes at Bushy Park Barbados. Round three is scheduled to start at 9.00am at the St Philip venue.

In a competitive start to its 40th season, there have been eight different race-winners across the Club’s three categories. With victory in the second race last month, Bruce joined Aaron Blackett with one win apiece this season as they chase current points leader Jacob Mayers, who has won the other six.

At 14 years old, Bruce is already a two-time BKA Champion, having won the 60cc Cadets class in 2022, then the 100cc title in his second season in the category last year. He was also on the Barbados team in the BMF OK-J Development Series Nations Cup last August, when he was the second-highest points-scorer on the Sunday to dominant Champion Alex Sharma of Trinidad & Tobago.

Blackett and Mayers are also both BKA Champions, Blackett in the 100cc class in 2022, while Mayers won the same title in 2024, when he was also the BKA Champion Driver.

This year’s crop of 100cc racers includes Jaydn Brathwaite and Jordyn Hinkson, who battled wheel-to-wheel for the 60cc Cadet title last year. Hinkson is yet to win this season, Brathwaite has four wins under his belt to lead the points, while Jaylan Priddee (once) and Oliver Judd (three times) are also winners.

In the 60cc class, Edward Norris has clocked up six wins to lead not only the class positions but also the overall standings. Finn Cox has won twice, but Ava Mayers is second in the points having finished second or third in all but one race so far.
