Fine margins split BKA racers ahead of round five

With three rounds remaining in the Sectus Technologies Barbados Karting Association (BKA) Championship, fine margins separate the front runners in the four classes. As drivers gear up for the season’s fifth Raceday at Bushy Park Barbados tomorrow (Sunday), fewer than 30 points cover the top three in the overall standings, all from the 100cc Easykart Juniors class. With 334 points, Blake Thompson leads the title chase from two-time Champion Driver Daniel Ullyett by 18 points – the biggest margin of any class-leader - with Raizer Stoute a further 10 points down on Ullyett.

Colin Bradshaw is currently fourth in the overall standings, leading the 125cc Easykart Lights class by six points from reigning Champion Driver Calem Maloney, who slipped from his early-season lead in the class and overall standings after missing the Crane and Equipment-sponsored third round in July; Aaron Blackett is third.

Single-figure margins separate the leaders in the remaining classes, too: Aeden Bruce, who had led the overall standings after the UpBeat Wholesale Race Day in March, is now equal sixth, but remains the leader of the 60cc Cadets class. The healthy 29-point advantage he enjoyed early season has been eroded the Mayers cousins, however, Zak only five points behind and Jacob another 19 points adrift.

It is close in the 125cc Easykart Masters class, too: Mark Thompson, who lies equal sixth in the overall standings, leads the class by six points, having shared the race wins with Cody Mark, who beat him on points in the first two rounds. Jeevan Panjwani and Sebastian Thompson are also in action tomorrow.
